Heidi is an experienced environmental professional whose career spans more than three decades in natural resource management, agricultural technology, erosion control, and water quality protection. She joined Voice Environmental Group, LLC (VEG) in a part-time capacity in November 2023 and transitioned to a full-time role in July 2024. Prior to joining VEG directly, Heidi served for 22 years as the Soil Erosion Control Officer for Antrim County, where she worked closely with VEG on ecological matters, including shoreline erosion and wetland permitting. Heidi holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Michigan State University and has pursued extensive additional coursework in natural resources and agriculture at several Michigan institutions. Her professional background includes service with Conservation Districts, where she focused on natural resource management and agricultural technology, and with the Natural Resources Conservation Service as an engineering technician and natural resource manager, emphasizing erosion control and water quality protection. In county government, Heidi administered Part 91 of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act (NREPA) and was responsible for a regulatory portfolio that required comprehensive familiarity with Parts 13, 31, 301, 303, 325, and 353 of NREPA, as well as local zoning and construction standards. Throughout her career, she has collaborated regularly with EGLE regulators, zoning administrators, environmental consultants, property owners, and contractors, developing a broad technical expertise and a pragmatic, respectful approach to balancing environmental protection with property rights. Although her work has taken her across Michigan and the United States, Northern Michigan remains her home.
